February Opening for London’s Unknown Garden
Description
February Opening for London’s Unknown Garden
Few people walking along the busy Chelsea Embankment realise there is a fabulous garden behind high brick walls. The Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in the 17th century and still conducts research into herbal medicine, but is normally closed in the winter.
However, in February the joy of the garden are the snowdrops and this year there is a special opening on Sunday 5th and 12th February so galanthophiles, (snowdrop lovers) can kneel before their adored harbingers of spring. Hot soup and teas will be served whatever the weather and copies of the recently updated ‘Snowdrop Days’ will be on sale plus, of course, snowdrops and unusual plants.
The Chelsea Physic Garden entrance is in Swan Walk and the garden open in February at 11am. 020 7352 5646
