Description

‘Pelotee Place: Learning from Africa’ provides a glimpse into what life will be like in the UK in 2058. Land costs, population growth and world temperatures have soared, and young families are living in eco-communes designed to both protect them from natural disasters and generate enough food and energy to support the whole community.
“Pelotee” means harmony in Sesotho, and the circular design reflects a holistic approach that balances the needs of people, livestock and the environment. Core to the theme is how this new generation has looked to Africa for solutions in surviving an increasingly hostile climate.
