BOSCH BRINGS LITHIUM-ION INTO EVEN MORE GARDENING TOOLS

Being at the forefront of new technology and innovation is something Bosch continually strives for and prides itself upon. 2008 is set to be the year Bosch expands its range of Lithium-ion technology as it launches a new range of hedgecutters and grass trimmers to further pioneer the use of this revolutionary battery technology in the garden.

Bosch’s understanding of Lithium-ion technology has re-invented the powered gardening tools sector. The introduction of the new Isio grass and shrub shears, and Rotak-Li lawnmowers last year saw sales of these revolutionary new products far exceed initial expectations, significantly boosting the growth of the cordless gardening market.

Standard NiCd batteries, which the majority of the gardening tool industry use, suffer from a ‘memory effect’ and over time will no longer retain or hold a full charge. Lithium-ion batteries are faster to recharge (between one and five hours depending on the battery) and, with no memory effect, can even be charged when not fully drained.

Above all, Lithium-ion batteries are lightweight, with the best power to weight ratio, and, with no cable to cut or get tangled up, they are effortless to use.
