Lucy Smith is a ceramicist who has been making pieces for private collections and public spaces for over 20 years. She discovered her love of pottery at a local evening class when she was just fourteen and in 1985, graduated from Middlesex Polytechnic in Design and Ceramics.

She currently works on her own projects and to commission from her studio in east London and has an established reputation for delicate exquisite modelling of plants and animals combined with bold simple form in her garden sculpture. The works are both unique pieces and changing editions. Experiments with glazes, porcelain, bronze and cold cast resins mean that her work is fresh and bespoke every year.

Lucy has received considerable recognition including television appearances and extensive print coverage in publications including, Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, and English Garden Magazine. Her work can regularly be seen at RHS garden shows, most notably the Chelsea Flower Show where she has gained many awards and achieved high acclaim.
