BBC Gardeners’ World Live FEATURES

Visit the Seed Swap where the Gardeners’ World team will be exchanging seeds that they’ve collected for ones you’ve got at home. Visitors can come along to the show with their seeds (the more unusual the better) and swap them for some seeds from Berryfields or some seeds that another visitor has brought along to swap. The seed swap will be situated opposite the Gardeners’ World 40 Year Garden and will be manned by Monty Don, Carol Klein, Joe Swift and Rachel De Thame.

BBC Gardeners’ World Garden

This year to celebrate 40 years of Gardeners’ World, the team will be creating a modern and contemporary show garden with some nostalgic twists!

The Gardeners’ World 40 Year Garden is a celebration of the work of the 5 presenters of the programme over the years. You’ll be able to pick out a timeline starting with Percy Thrower, moving through Arthur Billit and Geoff Hamilton, past Alan Titchmarsh until you get to the present day with Monty Don.

BBC 2 viewers will have been able to watch the evolution of this very same garden at Berryfields, but we are proud to announce its recreation and the final and complete reveal of the site at Gardeners’ World.

The influences of each presenter will be reflected in the planting and eagle eyed visitors will be able to spot the GW initals and 40 picked out in clipped topiary. The garden has been designed by Joe Swift.

The Chrysanthemum Pyramid – The largest ever tower of cut chrysanthemums

Created by the National Chrysanthemum Society, the Chrysanthemum Tower is a 15 foot colour co-ordinated pyramid. Each face of the pyramid features spray and
disbudded chrysanthemums and is made up of 40 arrangements with 100 cut flowers in each. Five larger arrangements make up the corner and top of the pyramid.

All the flowers for the exhibit are being grown in Chichester by Cleangrow. The feature will be located in Hall19.

The Chrysanthemum Society were awarded an EH Trophy for Best Cut Flower Exhibit in 2006, it was awarded for their Chelsea Gold Medal.
