Description

Richard’s interest in cacti began at an early age when he was bought a cactus plant as a gift at the age of seven. An uncle bought this for him from Woolworths who were selling them for 6d! His interest was re-ignited with a visit to a Cactus Society show in Cambridge in 1988. He joined the Cambridge Branch of The British Cacti and Succulent Society where he became a committee member and then Plant Sales Officer.

We started growing some of the plants to sell at the branch meetings and this progressed to starting Pembroke Farm Nursery in Barway, near Ely in 1999. In 2007 we re-located from Barway, Cambridgeshire to Lawshall, Suffolk and now share a nursery site with David and Elaine Paget who run Green Lawns Bonsai in Boxford, Suffolk. We presently attend approximately twenty five shows a year over the Country winning many medals for our displays.

We have attended RHS Chelsea flower show and RHS Hampton Court flower show as well as being regular exhibitors the RHS London flower shows at the Westminster halls. We enjoy visiting steam rallies throughout the country when we have any spare time from visiting and entertaining our family and walking our dogs.
