Description

East Riddlesden Hall

Atmospheric 17th-century manor house with oak-framed barns and a lovely garden

The house has distinctive architectural features and is set in mature grounds with beech trees and a large duck pond. The interior has a wonderful ambience, furnished with textiles, Yorkshire oak furniture and pewter, together with fine examples of 17th-century embroidery. There is also a handling collection for visitors to discover. The ruined façade of the Starkie wing, covered in clematis, honeysuckle and roses, provides a dramatic backdrop to the garden. Wild flowers, perennials, lavender and a fragrant herb border provide a changing carpet of colour throughout the year, whilst the orchard garden contrasts with the more formal borders
