NEW RANGE OF UNUSUAL SPECIALIST SHRUBS FROM KNOLL GARDENS

Knoll Gardens, the UK’s leading supplier of ornamental grasses, has launched a range of unusual woody plants online at www.knollgardens.co.uk.

The range is a reflection of Knoll’s overall gardening ethos to grow and sell a complete community of plants which work together in a garden setting.

“For many years visitors to the gardens have been fascinated by the specialist shrubs which provide unusual highlights throughout the gardens”, said Knoll’s owner, Neil Lucas. “Their overwhelming interest drew my attention to the real demand for the more unusual woody plants and I am now delighted to launch Knoll’s range with a selection of my personal favourites.”

Stunning foliage is a strong feature in the new range, which includes the distinctive blue greys of Acacia baileyana Purpurea and the dark chocolate coloured leaves of Corokia Frosted Chocolate. “A personal favourite of mine is the Golden Indian Bean (Catalpa bignonioides Aurea,” said Neil. “All our stock has been grafted from our own tree here in the gardens and it’s difficult not to fall in love with its wonderful deep golden yellow, heart-shaped leaves.”

All Knoll’s woody shrubs are supplied in 2 or 3 litre pots and prices start at just £6.50. Spring 2009 will see the range expanded with the addition of around 30 further unusual shrubs. For more detailed information visit Knoll Gardens’ online store at www.knollgardens.co.uk.
