Design Process
Ultimately, your interests lie in having your garden or part of the garden designed by a trusted company you can rely on to deliver fantastic results from both the design concept through to the final construction.
Here at ‘The Landscape Design Studio’ we aim to keep things simple. Please see below the few easy steps it takes to achieve your new stylish outdoor space;
The first step is for us to meet at your house/ site and discuss what it is you are hoping to achieve from your garden. Some clients provide a very detailed brief, whilst others are looking for real inspiration. You will also have an opportunity during this early meeting to browse through our extended portfolio. This initial consultation is free of charge.
Depending on the size of the project and your requirements, we would discuss a one off fee in order to create a tailor made design package that suits your needs. A basic design package would include the site survey, level survey (if required) and a ‘to scale’ plan. The plan would clearly show how the newly proposed garden scheme would look from a ‘bird’s eye view’ and would label all of the potential design features. This basic design package starts from as little as £250 plus vat (based on a small, fairly level plot measuring approximately 10m x 5m). Please note that if you require further technical drawings, a detailed planting plan or three dimensional sketches these can also be worked into the design package (although most clients feel a detailed ‘bird’s eye plan’ is suffice in order to visualize our proposals). We would, as a matter of course, be prepared to include further minor alterations, at no additional cost, to ensure you are entirely satisfied with your final design proposal.
A detailed itemised quotation for the project to be constructed by our workforce would be written as standard and testimonials/references would be available upon request. We can even offer assisted site visits to show you examples of our past work. We want your decision to trust ‘The Landscape Design Studio’ with your garden to be an easy one and hopefully look forward to adding you to our on- going list of very satisfied clients.

The brief for this garden was to create an ‘outdoor living room’. I designed the high rendered wall for privacy and created a central decking area to denote the seating. There was even a fire place designed into the scheme to give it a convincing living room feel! Their young child also benefited from the garden with her very own rubber tiled play area. Mum and Dad also asked for a timber chalet retreat at the rear of the garden.
This was a simple but effective scheme that we built using ‘Porphyry’ slabs and Porphyry cobbles. The patio was set off with a large drilled cube water feature (also in Porphyry) that was placed within Scottish pebbles. The planting has been designed to soften the large expanse of paving.
Traditional Garden Design

The owner of this traditional Victorian farmhouse wanted to reduce the surrounding land back to its original levels. The layers of immediate patio had been built on top of each other quite a few times over the years. The finished results turned the landscape into an area of real diversity – the level changes created the feature steps, walls and piers that really enhanced the space. The client was so pleased he commissioned us to design and build a new pond and driveway entrance to complete his dream landscape.
The brief for this project was to remove a tennis court that was taking up approximately two thirds of the garden and to replace it with a completely new landscaping scheme. As you will see from the photographs, the area needed land drainage before the new topsoil was brought in. The finished result was such a huge transformation from the once dominating tenniscourt.
